KSBL Wins CFA Challenge Pakistan – another consecutive year
A team of students from KSBL recently won the Pakistan Final of CFA Institute Research Challenge 2020-21! The winning team from KSBL included Aiman Rehan Khan, Muhammad Waleed, Zain Nasir, Huzaifa Azeem and Faizan Ahmed.
The challenge for this year was to present an equity research analysis on Meezan Bank to a panel of high-profile judges from the investment management industry. This panel included Mr. Fawad Khan (Director, Center for Financial Studies, Prince Sultan University), Mr. Imtiaz Gadar (CFA, Head of Capital Markets, Bank Alfalah Limited), Mr. Navid Goraya (Chief Investment Officer, Karandaaz Pakistan), Mr. Syed Suleman Akhtar (Chief Investment Officer, UBL Funds Managers Limited) and Ms. Uzma Maqbool (CFA, Head of Business Planning and Analysis, TCS Private Limited).
KSBL students presented the best equity research report with their hard work and relentless guidance of KSBL faculty and industry mentors and have now moved to the sub-regional round of the Challenge.
The team’s mentors included Industry Mentor, Mr. Ameet Doulat (CFA, Deputy Head of Research, Universal Brushware Investments) and Faculty Advisor, Mr. Faraz Bandukda (CFA, Visiting Faculty- KSBL, Chief Executive – Al-Hilal Shariah Advisors) for guiding and supporting the team.
Other teams competing in the final round included IBA – Karachi, IoBM and IBA – Sukkur. We wish all the best to the KSBL team for the sub-regional round of the Challenge.
