Dr. Farooq-e-Azam Cheema

Dr. Farooq e Azam Cheema has a distinguished career in improving Pakistan’s education landscape, making significant contributions as a member of the National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) and serving as an accreditation mentor to renowned universities across Pakistan. He is a permanent member of the National Curriculum Review Committee for Business Administration (HEC) and also holds membership in prestigious bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), UK, and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK.

He completed his MSc in Human Resource Management & Development at the University of Manchester, UK, and earned his PhD in Management from the University of Karachi. In addition to his academic background, Dr. Cheema possesses extensive experience in corporate HRM & D consultancy, with special expertise in developing HR systems for renowned organizations and handling matters related to Industrial Relations and Labor Laws.

Dr. Cheema’s area of expertise lies in Human Resource Development. He has been associated with reputable institutions such as the Employer Federation of Pakistan, the Institute of Bankers Pakistan, and the ICAP for many years. During this time, he has conducted multiple workshops on managerial skills, Industrial Relations, and Labor Laws.

HEC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as member and secretary of the National Curriculum Review Committee (NCRC) for business education since 2012.
  • Performing as an external evaluator for HEC Postgraduate Programs Review process. Conducted review visit of 8 institutes since 2017.2
  • Performing as an external curriculum expert for the HEC’s postgraduate programs NOC process. Conducted evaluation of curricula of 20 postgraduate programs since 2017.
  • Held multiple important studies/enquiries assigned by HEC regarding various business/management science education related issues including the case of equivalence of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) qualifications with the mainstream Pakistan Qualification Framework qualifications.
